ACTE / SCACTE Awards Program 2016


We are looking for you!  Nominate someone from your division!  Each division should be recognized.  It could be you!.. 

ACTE/SCACTE Member Awards:
*individual must be a SCACTE dues paying member to be nominated.

SCACTE Teacher of the Year - The purpose of this award is to recognize teachers who are providing outstanding career and technical education programs for youth and/or adults in their respective fields and communities. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs that are serving to improve and promote career and technical education.

SCACTE Administrator of the Year- The purpose of this award is to recognize full-time career and technical administrators, program specialist, coordinators, and all other CTE personnel and staff (not employed as teachers or guidance professionals, who have recently providing significant contributions to professional associations and CATE programs for youth and/or adults in their fields, communities and/or states. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs; and/or improvement, promotion, research or development of programs CATE.  

SCACTE Postsecondary Teacher of the Year - Individuals currently employed as full-time postsecondary CTE teachers/educators are eligible recipients of this award. Recipients of this award must have made significant accomplishments and innovations, contributions to the CTE community, SCACTE and other organizations that exhibit the quality of the candidate for the award.

SCACTE Teacher Educator of the Year- This award recognizes teacher educators who have demonstrated innovation in teacher education, leadership in improving CTE, and commitment to preparing teachers to deliver high quality CTE programs.

SCACTE New Teacher of the Year - This award is meant to encourage new teachers to remain in the profession. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs and have shown a professional commitment early in their careers. 

SCACTE Career Guidance  - The purpose of this award is to recognize school counselors and career development professionals who are currently making significant contributions in career and technical education programs in their communities and/or states. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions to advocate, educate and communicate the value of CTE as a viable career option to a variety of audiences, including students and adults. They must also demonstrate exemplary efforts in helping students and/or adults evaluate their abilities, interests and talents that encourage them to develop academic and career goals aligned with career and technical education.


SCACTE Carl Perkins Community Service - 
The purpose of this award is to recognize teachers with significant accomplishments and outstanding leadership in programs and activities that promote community involvement.  Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward training, motivating, and inspiring their peers and students to become involved in programs and projects that benefit their communities.

SCACTE Lifetime Achievement Award 
- Individual SCACTE members whose dedicated contributions have been identified with the work and purposes of the Association over an extended period of time are eligible recipients of this award. 

ACTE/SCACTE Nominated Awards:
*Individuals do not need to be a SCACTE dues paying member to be nominated (business/industry/reps/legislators/etc...)

SCACTE Business Leader of the Year - Leaders and executives from the business community who have excelled in contributing to the improvement, promotion, development and progress of CTE are eligible recipients of this award. All applicants must be nominated by an ACTE member

SCACTE Business of the Year
 - Businesses and organizations that have excelled in contributing to the improvement, promotion, development and progress of CTE are eligible recipients of this award. All applicants must be nominated by an ACTE member.

SCACTE Champion Advocate of the Year
 - Individuals and entities that have excelled in contributing to the improvement, promotion, development and progress of CTE are eligible recipients of this award. All applicants must be nominated by an ACTE member.


* Please note: State winners must be current ACTE members in order to be recognized at and compete in the regional awards program. If a state winner does not meet the membership requirements, set by ACTE, the state winner will be recognized only at the state level.
